CS Games Centralized News Topic

Greetings folks!
I'm Wyatt Carss, and I'm co-ordinating our participation in CS Games this year. The games take place in Sherbrooke, Quebec, and we will be travelling to them by van. We depart on Friday, March 7th, and will return by Monday, March 10th. This year the University of Guelph will be sending 2 teams, theoretically a learning team that will just be getting a feel for the games and learning everything they can, and an experienced team that will be going there to pwn seven ways from sunday.
I have tentative rosters for each team as follows, if you see your name on this list and don't think it should be there, or if you don't see your name and really think it should, email me!
The Learning Team
Wyatt Carss (C)
Martin Lindsay
Jonathon Mills
Mike Hoyle
Evan Caswell
Robyn Smith
Justin Arnott
Nathaniel Ridder
Lingam Lakshmanan
Paul Vilchez
The Experienced Team
Matt Englert (C)
Randall Roberts
Natalie Girard
Frank Martinello
Paul Gowman
Rob Groves
Tony Thompson
There are a few other people I've spoken to about the Experienced Team, but I have yet to hear back confirmations from.
The cost of the trip should be around $200, that is all inclusive (transport, food, accommodations, registration), and there is a $109/room deposit required upon arrival at the hotel we will be staying in. This deposit must be provided by the members of a room, and will be paid back provided there isn't any damage done.
If you are a CIS Student with 4+ CIS Courses and a 70%+ average or <4 courses and 90%+ average in CIS 1500, the Department will cover your costs, and you should be on the Learning Team. If you have 10+ CIS courses and a 70% average, then the Department will cover your costs and recommends you participate within the Experienced team.
We will be registering teams ASAP, but one thing we need is names! I've created a separate topic for name suggestions, so please post any you have in there. If you have a single name that would be suitable for the Learning team or the Experienced team, post it and specify which team you mean it for. If you have a pair that work together, that's something we particularly want, so please be clear about it. Also, if you just generally have a cool name, throw it up. We'll be taking the cream of the crop and voting on it this Thursday (Feb 7th) at 5:30 at the SOCIS meeting.
This topic will be updated when we get training sessions nailed down, and when we've got pricing locked - also for any other news that comes up.
Also: We are in need of drivers! To everyone who will be attending CS Games: Are you a G Class Licensed driver? Do you want infinite love from your fellow team mates? Please, volunteer to help drive! The more drivers we have, the easier it is on each one of them. If you're interested, post below that you would be willing to drive. Vans will be provided, all you need is your license and sobriety. :P
UPDATE: Teams have been registered! Members can still be added and can still be deleted, and the names can still change, but at the least we're showing up on their list of attendees now. We're hoping to pay before the end of next week, and to be PDRing for funds then as well.
New things to think about:
-The "Flash Out" contest, wherein our teams each make videos and submit them, to be shown during the introduction and to showcase our awesomeness.
-We'll get training sessions set up, and hopefully have a few of them.
-A "Special Quiz" that teams will have to discuss and come up with answers to that ALL MEMBERS MUST KNOW!
I will mail the quiz questions out to attendees, rather than post them here (in case they're secret or something).
Keep watching for updates!

Driving
I have my G license, so I can drive. Although, I ask that the infinte love from fellow team mates to be in a purely platonic way.

Hep and company?
Are we sure Hep and his gf are coming? I spoke to them recently, and she didn't even know what it was. Hep also seemed iffy on it.

I have contacted both of them by email about the games, I hope to hear back from them soon.
.. What kind of math skills are normally necessary? I know someone who has some exceptional skill in math who is in second year - he isn't CIS, but he may be interested in coming along.
