socis.ca & cs-club.org email issues

full mail services has been restored to both domains, but there was a outage window for most of this week for mail sent using university services. Although our mail servers are no longer hosted on campus, a misconfiguration in the university mail configuration resulted in a mail loop for some mail sent from campus servers. Sadly university servers did send delivery failure notices in some cases.

This misconfiguration is still present in the university servers, but we are working around it. We have a ticket open and hope to resolve this shortly.

mail not sent from teddie, webmail or outbound.mail.uoguelph.ca was not affected.

You have my deepest apologies for this service interruption. We are working to prevent such issues in the future.

I haven't been able to

I haven't been able to access my @cs-club.org email or ssh into cs-club.org using my account for a while now. I emailed the admin last Thursday and haven't gotten a reply. Does anyone know what I should do about this?

Hey Tom, I Can't seam to

Hey Tom,

I Can't seam to find your email. (there was a issue with CCS dropping mail bound for our domains around that time period.) I will put the general information below as others may benefit from it.

Beddie (old shell server) has now been decommissioned. Mail services are now being handled by Google. You can request a new shell account by sending an email to admin@socis.ca (if you could CC menglert@uoguelph.ca jest to make sure it makes it)

Your beddie shell account is backed up and can be restored to your new shell account. Mail bound for your old address is being spooled and can be forwarded to a new email account. your old @cs-club.org address will be picked up as an alises on new @socis.ca accounts. You can request a new email address via admin@socis.ca.

Sorry for the delay,
