Yeah, I played that way back when on my copy of Mario All-Stars. All the other games on the collection saved each world, that one saved each level because it was crazy hard. Stupid huge pits sprinkled with small platforms of springs and leafy gusts all the time.

First time I beat that game,
First time I beat that game, I must've been 13. It took me a solid summer to get through it, and HOLY CRAP, it's hard. In the Mario All-Stars, they give Luigi this crazy super-jump ability. Do they give you that on the Wii version?

Apparently if you get through 8 naturally (without warping) then you get to play 9,10,A,B,C,D
Are there any other secrets that people know?
Yeah...
It's really hard.
Also, occasionally, if you're using Luigi, you can jump over some of the end-of-level flagpoles, and go to a warp world. Also also, in Lost Levels only, you can score 1000 on the flagpole. It's really hard to do, but if you do it right, you get a 1-up.

The 1up thing occurs when
The 1up thing occurs when you have a multiple of 11 coins and then get the flag at that second.
So 11 coins and get the time at 131 or 141 or 151 etc..
And those over the flag zones all lead to World 1 or death as far as I have found :|
