Fall 2008 CIS*3620 / CIS*3750
Submitted by mwirth on March 11, 2008 - 19:05.
Hi,
It was mentioned that there is a conflict with CIS*3620 and CIS*3750 in Fall 08.
Specifically 375 labs are happening when 362 classes are happening.
Please note that if you want to take 362 in order to take 462/465, you can take
362 in the fall and 462 in the winter. 362 is scheduled with the
4th year courses.
regards,
Michael

I don't really follow what
I don't really follow what that means though? Isn't 3620 still required for 4620 and 4650?

what it means...
What it means is that 3620, 4620/4650 can be taken in one year.
Each semesters courses is scheduled as a group. Meaning the 01, 03, 05 and 07 core courses are each
scheduled. If there is a conflict between a course in 03 with a course in 05, there is little that can be done.
It is impossible to fit all the courses in.
In the future we may consider scheduling 3620 with the 05 semester courses.

Here's what I don't
Here's what I don't understand: What courses do you expect us to take in 3rd year? I mean, I know you expect us to take a certain number of credits for our Area of Applications, but to be fair, you can't guarantee that there are X number of credits that we can actually take in a given semester. And even further, any student who wishes to take both 4620 and 4650 are barred from doing so if 3620 is intended to be a 4th year course. I don't see why it should even be a question that 3620 should be scheduled in Semester 5, when I can't think of a single argument as to why it shouldn't.
And I find it hard to believe that you can't fit all of the Fall 3*** courses into one semester properly.
