Annual General Meeting & Elections!

Hello everybody!

In exactly two weeks from today, on Monday March 31st, we will be having our Annual General Meeting. This will be made up of two main parts: A general election for next year's executive, and a few constitutional amendments. The Annual General Meeting will be held in MACK 031, from 5 PM to 7 PM.

What that also means is that the executive positions are now up for the running! If you'd like to run for one of the positions (listed below), email robertsr@uoguelph.ca with your full name, and the position(s) you intend to run for.

Please note that one of the suggested amendments to the constitution is to allow a ranked electoral system, so people may run for multiple positions and all the positions can still be filled by different people. Due to this, the election will be prepared for either form of the electoral process, so in the email, please notify us which position is your primary choice, and which ones you would also consider (if any) if the new electoral process is voted in.

Webmaster

I've had an amazing time as President, and I highly encourage people run for an executive position. It's been a great experience, it's social, and a ton of fun.

My feelings about being a SOCIS exec

Most of our forum readers know me as the Vice President of SOCIS. The last few semesters being involved as a SOCIS exec have been a lot of fun. Being part of a enthusiastic team as well as the perks of planning and running events for our student body are what made me want to do it for multiple semesters. This years elections are coming up and I am graduating this semester so I won't be running for an executive position, but I would recommend that others get involved, and run for one of the executive positions available.

This is the order that the positions will likely be voted on, as some people will be running for multiple positions. This will allow people to make their choice for what is typically a more desired position. One person cannot hold two positions.
