Double login issue

**Update: After much tinkering, we're pretty sure it's fixed and done. /drupal5 is no longer part of our URL, and only a single login is required - with or without cookie.**

Thanks for bearing with us,

System Staff

PS: as a note to anyone who cares, going to www.socis.ca takes you straight to socis.ca. This is a happy thing.

**Not Currently using redirect due to it's apparent failure**

Currently we have been experiencing an issue of not being able to log in to the website on the first visit due to cookie issues. However this problem is bypassed by going to the url "socis.ca/drupal5/node", which looks the same as the homepage anyways. So currently we have a redirect running on the main page to this web page. If anybody is being troubled by this redirect at all please let us know by either posting in this thread or contacting "admin@socis.ca". If this solution seems to be troubling people, or a better solution is brought to our attention the main page will be changed back to normal.

The issue is brought up in the drupal support area but the reasons given for causing it have been tested and don't appear to be the cause in our case. It is cookie related as they suggest, but it is not solved based on the url being with or without the "www" as testing revealed. The solution for that is a simple mod-rewrite rule.

Any general feedback or ideas would be much appreciated.

I've actually had the problem since day 1 of the rollout for the site, but i never really cared so it didn't bother me.

It's not a huge issue, but it's good to hear it's not just me.

It's not a big deal, but it had been getting a little annoying. I could have been doing something very important with the extra few seconds I lose typing in my user name and password again. I have no idea what, but I'm sure there's something I could've been doing.

Hey, those seconds add up.

Hey, those seconds add up. You lose two seconds one day, and you lose two seconds the next day, and that's like four seconds right there!

Well technically if you knew about the problem, you could just mash the keyboard the first time, and it would give you your cookie :P ...

Man, I wish mashing my keyboard give you cookies... *stares off into space*
