Welcome to pre-course forum: Advanced Concurrent Programming

Hi all -
This forum is intended to advertise & discuss the upcoming Special Topics course 4500, aka, "Advanced Concurrent Programming".
You can find the preliminary course description here:

I'm working on the course content right now, so interested students are welcome to post your thoughts on what you would like such a course to teach. I don't promise I can meet all demands, but I would like to have some "brainstorming" to pick from.
AFAIK, this kind of course is still pretty rare "out there". I've seen a few examples of platform-specific courses (e.g., just for Cell programming, or NVIDIA GPU, or Intel), or app-specific (e.g., video games), but not much in the way of general coverage, which is my intention.
Any 4500 topics course is typically a "prototype". If it goes well, the dept. may intend to offer it as a regular course to help boost our students into the multiprocessor era.
