Your input needed
Hi,
The college (CPES) is in the process of recruiting for the position of Associate Dean (Academic) and I've been asked to get opinions about what that role means to undergraduate students.
The associate dean (academic) will be the person who represents our program (BComp) at the upper levels of university administration. This means that he/she is the person who will need to stand up for areas of application and minors, that he/she is the person who will need to fight for campus resources (library budget, for example), the person who must get resources for us to keep down our lab sizes, offer smaller classes, etc etc. He/She is also the person who deals with academic misconduct.
There are a host of other responsibilities that go with the job as well, including the graduate academic program, promoting teaching excellence, and sitting on several committees.
I am collecting the thoughts of people in the department about what the key challenges will be for the person who takes this job. If you have some thoughts, please go to http://icc.cis.uoguelph.ca/limesurvey and fill out the survey that you find there. Its only a few open ended questions, none of which are required so you can spend as little time as you like with it. Please register with your UoGuelph email- I can only use results that come from a campus email address. Your name and email address will NOT be part of the results- they are confidential.
Please pass this message on to people who might not read the forums.
Thanks!
