Since I can't come to the

Since I can't come to the meetings on Thursdays, here's my opinion on some of the stuff.

As far as population goes. SOCIS hasn't really reached out to anyone but maybe first years. I heard no announcements from any 2nd year reps nor any newsletters being sent out to advertise events. Here's an idea, how bout either the secretary or the Comm liaison summarize the thursday meetings and send out a newsletter? Wishful thinking on my part probably.

In addition, while I'm not even certain you guys are talking about getting more people into SOCIS at this point but it looks like you guys are trying to tap into the other schools for more students. I probably wouldn't be the first to think that you haven't even made a sufficient effort to spread your word in CIS as most of the CIS people outside of SOCIS that I interact with have this to say: "What is SOCIS? And why should I care?" And yet another idea; Instead of talking and holding meetings to discuss things, how about the executives take charge and actually put words into action?

Maybe again, wishful thinking.

Hey Kelvin, You know we are

Hey Kelvin,
You know we are doing our best, and I'm sure you understand the challenges involved in getting the word out from being a previous executive. I completely agree that we should be working as hard as we can to spread the word to CIS students in every year, but I think that the best way to do that isn't by taking charge and not holding meetings, but by doing our best to get the input of as many students as we can, even if that is the most difficult path to follow. Do you know what I mean?

Newsletter

You've got a fair point about including items from the agenda in the newsletter. In the future, I will try to forward info relative to all CIS students to Tracy for inclusion in the future. The info on the new majors and such should definitely get out.

Distribution

(Removed my post because I found the discussion on the next board... sorry)
