Mouse Problems
Ok so here's the story, I recently upgraded my laptop from Ubuntu 9.4 to 9.10. Everything was fine up until the upgrade, my laptop's built in mouse was fine, however now the mouse buttons no longer work, nor does the track-pad, the only part of the mouse that works is the ball placed in the middle of the keyboard. My laptop model is a Dell Latitude D600. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

From what i understand, this would imply that you have disabled the synaptic touchpad.
How did you upgrade the distro, did you use the actual upgrade function, or did you wipe and start from scratch?
Run dmesg and look to see if

dmesgand look to see if there are any errors about your trackpad. Also, it'd be worth booting off of a 9.10 live CD to see if it works.--

Same issue
Rob had the same issue on an upgrade on a Sony Vaio FJ370, and ended up just doing a fresh reinstall with 9.10 alone. Problem was inexistant after that.
